Charlestown Proposes Seasonal Parking Bans Near Burlingame State Park

In response to traffic congestion and littering during peak times at Burlingame State Park, the Charlestown Town Council is proposing new parking restrictions on local roads near the park. The ordinance would prohibit parking on both sides of Prosser Trail and East Quail Run from May 15 to September 15, between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. The council is set to discuss and potentially adjust the proposed measures at a public hearing on August 26.

Rhode Island Sees Continued Drop in Gas Prices

Gas prices in Rhode Island are continuing their downward trend, with the average cost per gallon now at $3.41, a four-cent decrease from last week. This price is also two cents lower than last month and 24 cents less than the same period last year. Despite the summer's strong travel demand, Rhode Island's gas prices remain nine cents below the national average.
