CRMC Rejects Controversial Narrow River Housing Project

The Rhode Island Coastal Resources Management Council (CRMC) has unanimously rejected Nicholas Veltri’s proposal to build a house on a small lot near the Narrow River, effectively ending a protracted dispute unless legally challenged. Veltri’s plans to construct a two-story home on an 8,000-square-foot lot faced significant opposition from neighbors and environmental advocates concerned about flooding and ecosystem damage. The council's decision followed CRMC staff recommendations against the project and reflects recent scrutiny over the council’s controversial decisions.

South Kingstown Hosts Facade Improvement Grant Workshop

The Town of South Kingstown, in partnership with the Wakefield Village Association, will host a workshop on July 2nd at 6:00 p.m. at the Arnold Lumber Building to review the Facade Improvement Grant Program. Town officials will provide information, answer questions, and assist with the application process. The event is open to anyone interested in the program.
