GFWC Women’s Club Awards 6th Graders for Charitable Essays

The GFWC Women’s Club of South County honored three sixth-grade students with the Spirit of Giving Essay Awards at its annual event. Students from Broad Rock Middle School (BRMS), Monsignor Clarke School (MCS), and Meadowbrook Waldorf School submitted essays on nonprofit organizations they wished to support. Each winning student received a $350 donation for their chosen charity, along with certificates and gift cards from Brickley’s Ice Cream.

Eva Vieira from Broad Rock Middle School chose Hope Hospice Center, Nava Shear from the same school selected The Brent Sopel Foundation, and Milo Yedlowski also from BRMS picked The Johnnycake Center of Peace Dale. Their teachers received cash donations for their classrooms, and nine other students received honorable mentions.
