Senior Transportation Program in South Kingstown Temporarily Halted

South Kingstown Senior Services has temporarily suspended its senior transportation program due to the need for a new van driver.
In the interim, seniors can use the RIPTA Flex Service bus program or seek assistance from Southern RI Volunteers.
The department is working to fill the position and resume the service as quickly as possible.

South Kingstown Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony Set for May 27

The South Kingstown Memorial Day Parade, organized by the VFW, will take place on May 27 at 10:00 a.m., starting on Holly Street, proceed south on Main Street, and ending at Saugatucket Park.
This year’s Grand Marshal is Krista Simpson Anderson, a Gold Star Spouse.
The parade will include military personnel, local dignitaries, and community groups, followed by a memorial ceremony at 11:00 a.m.
The community is invited to attend and honor those who have sacrificed for our nation.

Newport Pell Bridge Road Reopens as Lane Restrictions End

The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority (RITBA) announced that the road leading to the Newport Pell Bridge has fully reopened to two travel lanes in both directions. Lane restrictions, which had been in place since October, have been lifted, easing travel for commuters and summer visitors. While construction on the bridge ramps continues, this phase completion aims to enhance traffic flow and reduce congestion.

Narragansett Police to Host Seminar on Internet Scam Prevention

The Narragansett Police Department is hosting a seminar on internet scams and fraud prevention on Thursday May 16 2 PM - 3 PM at Maury Loontjens Memorial Library.

This informative session will cover how to recognize different types of scams, what to do if you are targeted, and how to prevent future attempts. Attendees will also learn about local scam case studies and reporting procedures. Refreshments will be provided.

Get Tech Help at South Kingstown Library's Drop-In Session

The South Kingstown Library is providing an opportunity for residents to get in-person assistance with their electronic devices.
On May 16, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, the Digital Services Librarian will be available to help with cell phones, tablets, computers, and more.
No appointment is necessary.
