South County Hospital Scores 'A' in Latest Hospital Safety Grades
South County Hospital earned an "A" rating in The Leapfrog Group's spring 2024 Hospital Safety Grades, underscoring its dedication to patient safety.
Rhode Island was ranked fourth among the top ten states with the highest number of "A"-rated hospitals.
The Leapfrog Group, a nonprofit watchdog, grades hospitals biannually based on their ability to prevent medical errors, accidents, and infections.
First of Two Giant Trolls Revealed in Ninigret Park, Promoting Recycling and Tourism
The South County Tourism Council has unveiled Erik Rock, a giant troll sculpture by Danish recycle artist Thomas Dambo, at Ninigret Park in Charlestown.
Erik Rock, located by Little Nini Pond, provides clues to the location of the second troll, Greta Granite, who is currently under construction. Dambo’s work aims to promote environmental stewardship through recycling and aligns with South County’s natural beauty.
The council plans to add more trolls across Rhode Island, creating a “Troll Trail” that will attract visitors statewide.
LEGO Fans Rejoice: Rhode Island Brick Convention Returns May 18-19
The Rhode Island Brick Convention will be back at the West Warwick Civic Center on May 18-19, showcasing LEGO masterpieces by professionals and fan artists.
This year’s event, supporting Creations for Charity, will feature twice as many displays, meet-and-greets with LEGO celebrities, and family-friendly activities. Last year’s convention raised over $15,000 for the charity, and organizers aim to beat that figure this time around.
Tickets are $14 and can be purchased here.
