Free E-Waste Recycling Event Today

Today on Earth Day, the Southern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce provides a public service through a free e-waste recycling event between 2 PM - 4 PM. Residents can bring their electronic waste to the Chamber’s parking lot, where Cartridge World representatives will help load it.
Accepted items include various electronics and small appliances, contributing to environmental protection and resource conservation.

Saugatucket Park's Major Upgrades Underway

Saugatucket Park is seeing a series of upgrades this spring, including the removal of fencing and brush to enhance river and downtown views, and the redevelopment of its walking path based on historical designs.
The basketball court will also be updated to support pickleball, reflecting a community-driven approach to encourage outdoor activity. The ongoing and future enhancements, such as new lighting and a rain garden, aim to improve both the functionality and aesthetic of the park.

Dispose of Unused Medications Safely on National Drug Take-Back Day

On April 27, from 10 AM to 2 PM, the Rhode Island Department of Behavioral Healthcare teams up with local police to host National Drug Take-Back Day.
Residents can bring their expired or unused medications to the South Kingstown or Narragansett Police Stations for free, anonymous disposal.
This event helps prevent medication misuse and environmental damage

Narragansett to Conduct Crack Filling on Multiple Streets

The Town of Narragansett has scheduled crack filling maintenance for several roads on April 22, dependent on good weather.
The streets affected include Ridge Drive, Dove Terrace, Secluded Drive, Eagles Nest Terrace, Piping Plover Drive, and Crane Terrace.
Residents should expect minor travel disruptions and plan accordingly.

Narragansett Schedules Fire Hydrant Flushing, Advises on Water Use

The Town of Narragansett Water Division will conduct its semi-annual flushing of fire hydrants on the Point Judith Water System from April 22 through May 10, daily from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
During this maintenance, residents may experience discolored water or lower pressure and are advised to turn off their water if it appears dirty, wait until flushing has completed in their area, and then flush their systems with cold water until it runs clear.
The procedure is part of necessary maintenance to ensure the system's cleanliness and functionality.
