South Kingstown to Discuss Municipal and School Budgets at Public Hearing

The Town Council of South Kingstown, in collaboration with the School Committee, has scheduled a public hearing to discuss the preliminary budget for the fiscal years 2024-2025.
These hearings will focus on both the municipal and school budgets. The meetings are set for Wednesday, April 17 at 7:00 PM in the South Kingstown Council Chambers located at Town Hall, 180 High Street, Wakefield, RI.

Interested residents are invited to attend these hearings to gain insight into the proposed budget, which was approved by the Town Council on March 18, 2024.

Narragansett Launches Online Parking Permits Application Process

The Town of Narragansett is updating its parking permit system to an online platform through OpenGov, affecting residential and pier area business permits. Applicants are advised to register online before May 15, 2024, and use a reliable email for updates. Existing OpenGov users can use their current login. Applications open on May 1, with permits available for pickup following approval.

Eco-Depot Event at Narragansett Beach: Schedule Your Hazardous Waste Disposal

The town of Narragansett announces the Household Hazardous Waste Eco-Depot event to be held on April 20 from 8 a.m. to noon at the North Pavilion of Narragansett Beach. Residents are invited to responsibly dispose of hazardous waste by scheduling an appointment with the RIRRC, partaking in an environmental initiative to properly handle potentially dangerous materials.

URI Hosts Out of the Darkness 5K Walk in Push for Mental Health Awareness

On April 20, URI will conduct the Out of the Darkness 5K walk to raise awareness and support for mental health and suicide prevention.
The event is part of a series by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and is designed to engage students in a dialogue about mental health, with no registration fee or fundraising requirement.
Registration for the event is open and can be completed at www.afsp.org/URI
