Public Hearing Scheduled in South Kingstown Today

Today at 7:30 PM, the South Kingstown Town Council will conduct a public hearing to discuss a proposed amendment to the Town Code regarding Short-Term Residential Rentals Register and traffic regulations.

South Kingstown to Vote on $150 Million School Bond Referendum

On May 7th, South Kingstown residents will vote on a $150 million School Bond Referendum to fund a new high school, athletic facility, and other school facilities.
The deadline for mail-in ballot applications is April 16th, with early voting available at the Town Hall Communications Garage from April 17th to May 6th.

Upcoming Forums to Address $150 Million School Bond in South Kingstown

The South Kingstown School Building Committee (SBC) has announced two community forums to discuss the proposed school building project and the associated $150 million bond referendum set for May 7, 2024. The forums aim to provide information and address questions from the community regarding the project's details and its implications.

Chris Spiegal, the SBC project manager, Phil Conte, a representative from SLAM/Studio JAED Architecture, and other SBC members will be present to offer insights and answer questions.
The first forum will take place on Thursday, April 11th, and the second on Saturday, April 20th, both running from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the South Kingstown High School Cafeteria, located at 215 Columbia Street.

The events are open to all South Kingstown residents, offering an opportunity for community members to engage with the project planners and gain a deeper understanding of the proposed school building initiative and the financial aspects of the bond referendum.

Upcoming RIPTA Site Visit at Narragansett Senior Center for Reduced Fare Bus Passes

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) has announced its 2024 community site visits for its Reduced Fare Bus Pass Program, providing affordable transportation for seniors and individuals with disabilities. A photo ID bus pass costs $10.00 and is valid for two years. Upcoming site visits include one at the Narragansett Senior Center on April 11, 2024 11 AM - 1 PM.
Applications can also be processed at RIPTA's Photo ID Offices in Kennedy Plaza and at its Providence headquarters or online at RIPTA.com/ReducedFare
