Drainage Work Underway at Tower Hill Road Bridge Project

The current phase of the Tower Hill Road Bridge and paving project, situated in North and South Kingstown, is centered on enhancing the drainage system.
While construction teams are working behind protective barriers, drivers should be prepared for frequent vehicle movements entering and exiting the work zones.
These zones are located at the interchange ramps of Route 138 and Route 1, with the expected activity occurring from Monday to Friday, during the hours of 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

South Kingstown Invites Residents to Shape Future of Old Tower Hill Road

South Kingstown is organizing a week-long charrette to involve the community in planning the future of the Old Tower Hill Road neighborhood.

The process will include interactive public meetings, design sessions, and workshops to gather input and ideas. The goal is to create a vision that is compatible with the area's historic context and meets community expectations.

The charrette will culminate in a presentation of the work-in-progress on March 28.

Get Ready for the Eclipse: Special Presentation at Maury Lonntjens Memorial Library

The Maury Lonntjens Memorial Library in Narragansett is inviting the community to a special presentation on the upcoming solar eclipse, scheduled for Wednesday, March 27 at 6 PM.
The event, led by a local Solar System Ambassador, will provide attendees with glasses to safely view the eclipse on April 8th.
The presentation will explain what a solar eclipse is and how to view it safely. The evening will also include some NASA-themed trivia, making it an educational and fun event for all ages.

South Kingstown Police to Host Scam Prevention Seminar

The South Kingstown Police Department has organized a seminar on scam prevention scheduled for Thursday, April 4th, at the Maury Lonnntjens Memorial Library, Narragansett.
The event aims to inform participants, particularly seniors, about a wide range of scams including those related to computers, telephones, home repairs, utilities, social security, romance, and real estate.
Detectives will offer advice on how to quickly identify potential scams and what steps to take if one suspects they are a victim.
The seminar is designed to enhance the attendees' ability to protect their finances from fraudsters employing fear, confusion, and distraction techniques.
