South Kingstown Invites Residents to Shape Future of Old Tower Hill Road

South Kingstown is organizing a week-long charrette to involve the community in planning the future of the Old Tower Hill Road neighborhood.

The process will include interactive public meetings, design sessions, and workshops to gather input and ideas. The goal is to create a vision that is compatible with the area's historic context and meets community expectations.

The charrette will culminate in a presentation of the work-in-progress on March 28.

CRMC Rules Out Paving for Charlestown Beach Road, Recommends Gravel

The Coastal Resources Management Council (CRMC) has advised against paving Charlestown Beach Road, favoring gravel to maintain its effectiveness as a natural barrier and storm buffer.

Charlestown's previous maintenance agreement expired, and a new application is needed. The town council is now reevaluating options for long-term resilience and is preparing a maintenance plan for the imminent summer season.
