Washington Bridge to Be Replaced Following Unrepairable Deficiencies

The Washington Bridge has been deemed structurally deficient and unrepairable, leading to a recommendation for its complete replacement. The demolition process will be competitively bid, with an expected completion date for the new bridge between March and September 2026. The cost for demolition is estimated between $250 and $300 million, with no current estimate for construction costs.

Stream Over 30,000 Movies for Free with a Library Card

Did you know that with an Ocean State Libraries (OSL) card, you can access a vast collection of over 30,000 movies for free?
If you don't have a library card yet, it's easy to get one.

To apply for an OSL card, you'll need a valid photo ID and proof of address. You can start the application process online, but you'll need to visit a Rhode Island public library in person to confirm your application and receive your card.
The best part? The card is free for Rhode Island residents.

Drive Sober This St. Patrick's Day, Police Advise

The Police are issuing a reminder to drive sober during St. Patrick's Day weekend due to the high number of alcohol-impaired driving fatalities historically associated with the holiday.
They urge motorists to plan for a sober ride home, host responsibly, look out for others, and always wear a seat belt.
