Peace Dale Library in South Kingstown Set to Receive $700,000 in Federal Funding
The U.S. House of Representatives has passed legislation allocating over $12 million for various community projects in Rhode Island, with a notable $700,000 designated for the Peace Dale Library in South Kingstown.
This funding aims to rehabilitate the library into a fully accessible community space.
The bill now awaits approval from the Senate and President Joe Biden, with Congressman Seth Magaziner's office expressing confidence in its passage.
Major Roadwork on Tower Hill Road
The Rhode Island Department of Transportation is undertaking a significant project on Tower Hill Road in North Kingstown, which includes the replacement of the Tower Hill Road Bridge over Route 138 and the resurfacing of a 6.5-mile stretch of the road.
A new traffic pattern has been established on Route 138 to accommodate the construction, and work behind barriers at the Route 1 Interchange ramps is scheduled for next week.
Motorists should be prepared for frequent vehicle access to the work zone for drainage work during weekdays.
