Protecting Our Shores: Virtual Town Hall Tackles Southern RI's Future

Rhode Island's southern coastline faces threats from rising sea levels and intensifying storms. Senator Gu is hosting a virtual town hall with coastal experts to discuss the challenges and solutions.
The event will feature a presentation on the science behind climate change, followed by a Q&A session. Residents can learn more, ask questions, and contribute to building a more resilient shoreline.

RAMS

Men’s Basketball
The University of Rhode Island's basketball team staged a dramatic comeback in the final minutes against UMass but fell short by two points, 81-79. UMass built a significant lead through strong perimeter shooting, but Rhode Island, led by Jaden House and Luis Kortright, fought back with a series of runs to close the gap. The game ended in suspense as Rhode Island's last-second shot to win bounced off the rim.

The Men’s next game will be home against Loyola on Sunday, February 18th at 12 PM. This game will be streamed on ESPN+.

Women’s Basketball
Rhode Island's women's basketball team started strong against Saint Louis but couldn't maintain their lead, ultimately falling 76-73 in a closely contested game. The Rams led for nearly the entire game until Saint Louis took over in the final minutes, with the outcome of the game hinging on critical free throws

The next Women’s game will be away against UMass on Wednesday, February 14th at 6 PM. This game will be streamed on ESPN+.
