Main Street Sets the Scene for a Family-Friendly Valentine’s Evening

Valentine's Day in South Kingstown promises a memorable escape for parents along Main Street, with local businesses curating special experiences for both adults and children. Rebekah Cook Art offers an imaginative respite for children with its "Parents Night Out." The two-hour event will entertain youngsters with a painting session inspired by the chilly charm of polar bears, complete with refreshments to keep their creativity flowing.

Meanwhile, adults are invited to savor the culinary delights at Phil’s Main Street Grill, which will feature exclusive dinner specials for the occasion, complemented by a selection of handcrafted cocktails. Adding to the evening's enjoyment, Phil’s will host a trivia game beginning at 7 PM, perfect for couples looking to indulge in both fine dining and light-hearted entertainment.

High School Theater Spotlights Talent with a Heartfelt Production of ‘9 to 5’

The Rebel Theater’s production of “9 to 5” at South Kingstown High School, inspired by Dolly Parton’s film debut and the influence of teacher Ryan Muir, opened yesterday.
The musical comedy, spanning four performances, highlights the challenges faced by three women in a male-dominated workplace and remains relevant in its examination of gender issues, all while engaging audiences with its humor and catchy tunes.

Showtimes for “9 to 5 The Musical” are set for Friday through Saturday at 6:30 pm, with a matinee performance on Sunday at 1:00 pm. Tickets are available for purchase online.

Vocal Talent Wanted: South County Chamber Singers' Call for Singers

The South County Chamber Singers, celebrating 40 years of musical contribution, are looking for new members who have a zeal for singing, the ability to read music, and can match pitch.

Prospective members should mark their calendars for the first rehearsal of the season, which is slated for Sunday, February 11, 2024, from 2 to 4 pm at St. Peter’s-by-the-Sea in Narragansett.
This rehearsal will kickstart the preparations for the ensemble's spring concert on April 21 at 3 pm, which promises to be a harmonious blend of classical and contemporary melodies.
