Narragansett Fishing Vessel Rescued in Coordinated Maritime Operation

Early Tuesday morning, the Annika Scarlett, a fishing vessel off the coast of Narragansett, faced imminent danger as it started taking on water. Responding to the distress call, a coalition of Narragansett Fire Department, Rhode Island DEM, and the U.S. Coast Guard personnel launched a rescue operation.
Through the effective use of multiple pumps, the teams were able to stabilize the vessel, averting potential disaster.
The incident, which concluded without any injuries, underscores the importance of swift and coordinated maritime rescue efforts.
The cause of the water ingress is currently under investigation.

New Cell Phone Lot Opens at T.F. Green for Easier Passenger Pickups

The introduction of a new cell phone lot at T.F. Green International Airport represents a significant upgrade in convenience for individuals waiting to pick up arriving passengers. Positioned strategically within the airport's property and boasting enhanced accessibility and proximity to the terminal, this new lot is a welcome development. The airport has taken steps to ensure easy location of the lot, including effective signage and providing a GPS-friendly address (2200 Post Road).

Men’s Basketball

The Men’s next game will be away against UMASS on Sunday, February 11th at 2 PM. This game will be on USA Network.

Women’s Basketball
The Rhode Island Rams were unable to counter the Richmond Spiders' potent offense in their latest Atlantic 10 matchup, losing 68-49. Richmond's early lead, established through exceptional three-point shooting and quick ball movement, set the tone for the game.
Despite a brief resurgence by Rhode Island in the second quarter, Richmond's offensive strategy and execution proved too much, with the Spiders effectively securing their victory by the third quarter.
The loss moves Rhode Island to a 15-10 overall record and 7-5 in conference play.

The next Women’s game will be home against Saint Louis on Sunday, February 11th at 12 PM. This game will be streamed on ESPNU.
