Join South Kingstown’s Fun-Filled Trivia Night for a Good Cause

South Kingstown is gearing up for an evening of intellectual challenge and community fun, where residents have the opportunity to see if they're smarter than a local student. Hosted by the South Kingstown Athletic and Fine Art Boosters, this trivia night invites participants to gather a few friends, form a team, and sign up for an evening of lively competition.

In addition to the trivia contest, the event will feature raffles with exciting prizes, including SK Rebels Athletic hoodies and ultra-soft SK Rebels blankets. Light refreshments will be available for purchase, adding to the festive atmosphere of the night.

This inaugural event, marking the first collaboration between the Athletic and Fine Art Boosters, aims not just to entertain but also to support important community causes. Proceeds from the evening will contribute to funding a museum trip to New York and the purchase of new team benches for the athletic field at Broad Rock Middle School (BRMS).

The trivia night is open to the entire South Kingstown community, including parents, teachers, staff, students, relatives, and all community members. It’s a perfect opportunity to engage in a bit of friendly competition, support local students, and enjoy a night out with friends and family. To participate in this exciting event, community members are encouraged to sign up, gather their team, and join in the fun.

South Kingstown Town Council to Host Public Hearings on Capital Improvements and Rental Registration

Today, the South Kingstown Town Council is set to conduct public hearings on two major issues: the Capital Improvement Program and the Rental Registration. A work session on Rental Registration is scheduled before the hearing. These sessions, to be held at the Town Council Chambers in Wakefield, offer a platform for public involvement in the town's developmental and housing policies.

Rhode Island Sets Sights on Coastal Resilience with Pioneering Legislation

The "Act on Coasts" legislation in Rhode Island, championed by Representative Tina Spears and Senator Victoria Gu, mandates a statewide coastal resiliency plan to assess vulnerabilities and devise mitigation strategies. The plan, building on the 2021 Act on Climate, will be regularly updated and includes the formation of an advisory board to work with the state’s EC4. The legislation is part of a broader effort to adapt to climate change.
