South Kingstown to Double Affordable Housing in Groundbreaking Initiative

The South Kingstown Housing Authority has announced a major plan to revitalize its low-and moderate-income housing.

The project involves replacing 52 family housing units at Champagne Heights and Fournier Estates and potentially adding 50 more.

The first phase includes constructing 40 new apartments at Champagne Heights, followed by the replacement of existing units.

The initiative, which is expected to cost $18 million, aims to address the town's acute shortage of affordable housing.

The authority has formed partnerships and secured funding for the project, which aligns with South Kingstown’s architectural character and community needs.
