Get Ready for Summer: RI Opens Sales for 2024 Beach Parking Passes

Rhode Island’s DEM has announced the availability of 2024 state beach parking passes and gift certificates online.

These passes, available for residents, non-residents, and seniors, aim to facilitate smooth access to popular state beaches like East Matunuck in South Kingstown, Roger Wheeler, Scarborough North and South, and Salty Brine in Narragansett.

The electronic passes, linked to vehicle license plates, will allow for expedited entry through express lanes, enhancing the beach going experience. The initiative encourages beachgoers to plan ahead, and the passes cater to various residency and age groups, with specific guidelines for military personnel and disabled visitors.

Stricter DUI Measures Reintroduced in Rhode Island Legislature

In the 2024 legislative session, Rhode Island Senators Raptakis and Tikoian are reintroducing several bills aimed at enhancing DUI laws.

These include the confiscation of license plates for certain offenses, extending the lookback period for repeat DUI offenses from five to ten years, and increasing penalties for driving that endangers life or causes injury.
