However, dog owners are advised to use the park at their own risk, adhering to ongoing RIDEM advice to avoid dog parks and other areas where dogs can congregate and interact closely.

Over 100 Rhode Island Bridges in 'Poor' Condition, Echoing Washington Bridge's Plight

An analysis of federal bridge data indicates that Rhode Island faces significant infrastructure challenges, with at least 119 bridges currently in poor condition, a number that increases to nearly 170 when including smaller structures. This represents about 15% of the state's bridges, including the westbound Washington Bridge, which was recently closed due to the risk of collapse.
Despite improvements since 2016, Rhode Island still struggles with its transportation infrastructure, evidenced by a large number of bridges not inspected in recent years. While most bridges are rated as fair or good, the prevalence of those in poor condition is a concern.

Middle Schoolers in South Kingstown Turn Art into a Message Against Impaired Driving

Students at Broad Rock Middle School in South Kingstown have been engaging in a door-decorating competition for the last ten years to raise awareness about impaired driving.
This year, they paid tribute to Ryan Bourque, a police officer who lost his life to a drunk driver.
The project, initiated by Martha Barbera in memory of her niece, also a victim, serves as an educational tool for middle schoolers to understand the impact of drunk driving.
Ryan's mother, Lee Bourque, praised the students' efforts and emphasized the importance of responsible celebration, especially during holidays.
