TSA Advises Early Arrival, Unwrapped Gifts for Holiday Travel Season

The TSA is bracing for a bustling holiday travel period, anticipating a significant increase in passengers compared to the previous year.
They are offering practical advice to travelers, including arriving early, ensuring gifts are unwrapped, and adhering to regulations regarding prohibited items and firearms.
These measures are part of the TSA's effort to maintain efficiency and safety at airport security checkpoints during the holidays.

Temporary Relief at the Pump: Rhode Island's Gas Prices Fall, But Rise May Loom

Rhode Island is seeing a decrease in gas prices, with the average cost of regular unleaded gasoline falling to $3.14 per gallon, slightly above the national average.
However, AAA Northeast indicates that this decline may soon halt due to mixed signals from the petroleum market, including increased regional inventories and a recent rise in oil prices.
Last year, the price of regular gas was higher at $3.33 per gallon, reflecting the ongoing volatility in fuel costs.

SNAP Replacement Benefits Available for Rhode Islanders After Power Outages

The Rhode Island Department of Human Services offers replacement SNAP benefits to residents who have lost food due to power outages lasting four hours or more.
Additionally, benefits are available for food loss resulting from utility shutoffs, appliance failures, or natural disasters.
To qualify, the loss must be reported to the DHS within 10 days through various means, and a SNAP-55 form must be submitted within the same timeframe.
