Fighting Hunger Together with the Rhode Island Community Food Bank

As the season of giving approaches, we're reaching out to our community for a collective effort to support the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.
Our goal is ambitious but attainable: we hope to raise $1,000 to aid in their crucial work.

The Food Bank is a cornerstone in the struggle against hunger, providing sustenance to over 63,000 residents of our state each month through a robust network of 140 partner agencies, including food pantries and various programs that feed the young and vulnerable.

Our commitment to eliminating hunger is steadfast, and we invite you to stand with us.

A donation of any amount can help move us toward a future where no Rhode Islander faces the uncertainty of their next meal.

Narragansett Announces Paving of Memorial Square Intersection; Delays Expected

The Town of Narragansett is undertaking a paving project at the Memorial Square intersection on Thursday and Friday, December 7th and 8th, weather permitting.
The Town are alerting residents and commuters to anticipate possible traffic delays during the project's duration.
As a precaution and to minimize disruptions, the town is suggesting that those affected seek alternative travel routes.

Porch Piracy in Rhode Island: A Growing Concern, Says New Study

A Lombardo Homes study identifies Rhode Island as a leading state for 'porch pirates' in the U.S.
The USPS processes an immense number of packages daily, not counting other services. The study reveals that 34% of Americans have had a package stolen, with an average loss of $219, and over half of these thefts occur during the holiday season.
Post-theft, 35% of people have installed new security systems or doorbell cameras. The study suggests solutions such as package tracking, being home for delivery, receiving alerts, and using security cameras.

Don’t forget that you can use the new “Ship to Station” from the South Kingstown Police Department (see below) 👇👇

Ship to Station: A New Initiative by South Kingstown Police to Secure Online Purchases

In an effort to combat the rise in package thefts during the holiday season, the South Kingstown Police Department has launched the 'Ship to Station' program.
This initiative allows residents to send their online shopping deliveries directly to the police station at 1790 Kingstown Road, South Kingstown, RI 02879.
Chief Matthew Moynihan emphasized the importance of community vigilance and cooperation in ensuring neighborhood safety.
To use the service, residents should forward their delivery confirmations to [email protected].

Upon package collection, a photo ID and a copy of the email or delivery confirmation matching the package's name are required.
The police, however, will not accept packages that require a signature at the station.
