Fighting Hunger Together with the Rhode Island Community Food Bank
As the season of giving approaches, we're reaching out to our community for a collective effort to support the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.
Our goal is ambitious but attainable: we hope to raise $1,000 to aid in their crucial work.
The Food Bank is a cornerstone in the struggle against hunger, providing sustenance to over 63,000 residents of our state each month through a robust network of 140 partner agencies, including food pantries and various programs that feed the young and vulnerable.
Our commitment to eliminating hunger is steadfast, and we invite you to stand with us.
A donation of any amount can help move us toward a future where no Rhode Islander faces the uncertainty of their next meal.

South Kingstown Schools Make Monumental Donation to Jonnycake Center
The South Kingstown School District recently held a highly successful Food Drive, uniting students, staff, and families in a mission to combat local hunger.
The drive amassed more than 1400 pounds of food, reflecting the district's dedication to community service and support.
The collected items were donated to the Jonnycake Center. The school district extends its gratitude to everyone who participated and emphasizes the importance of maintaining this spirit of generosity in everyday life.
Plans Unveiled for New Harborside Inn, Echoing Block Island's Historic Past
The Harborside Inn, a staple of Block Island's landscape and one of the first sights for visitors arriving by ferry, is on the path to resurrection after being ravaged by fire.
New Shoreham's Historic District Commission recently reviewed preliminary plans for rebuilding the hotel. The designs, introduced by VVO Real Estate Holding Corporation, propose a new structure mirroring the historic aesthetic of the 150-year-old original.
The goal is to initiate construction in the spring with completion targeted for spring 2025, featuring retail spaces on the ground level and multiple stories for guest accommodations and dining.
Package Theft Alert: Authorities Warn Residents Following Cyber Monday Sales
As the Cyber Monday sales wind down, law enforcement officials are alerting the community to the increased likelihood of package thefts.
With a significant influx of parcels expected at doorsteps following the online shopping spree, potential thieves might see this as an opportune moment.
Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and take preventative measures to secure their deliveries during this busy season.
