Creative Pet Portraits: Some People’s Pets

Calling all animal lovers! Some People’s Pets, LLC is a mobile paint studio specializing in custom pet portraits and pet-themed craft workshops. Owner Donna McCarthy combines her passions for art, teaching, and animals into memorable classes and commissioned pieces.

Donna's business brings the paint-your-own experience right to your door with private parties or public events at local breweries and businesses. Participants paint portraits of their own pets with Donna's guidance, creating heartfelt keepsakes. She also accepts commissions for custom 2D and 3D pet art.

With decades of experience in commercial art and arts education, Donna expertly leads newcomers through the creative process while accommodating all skill levels. Her classes unite pet owners through a shared love of animals.

Some People's Pets regularly partners with animal welfare nonprofits to raise funds through custom artwork. Donna has contributed her talents to over 10 organizations so far. She plans to join South Kingstown's Artisans Market in 2024 to make her pet portraits available to more customers.

To learn more about classes, commissions, or booking a private party, visit www.SomePeoplesPetsShop.com or call 401-212-1580.

Let's welcome Donna and Some People's Pets to the neighborhood!

Fighting Hunger Together with the Rhode Island Community Food Bank

We are proud to partner with the Rhode Island Community Food Bank in their mission to end hunger across our state. This vital organization distributes food to over 63,000 Rhode Islanders in need each month through their network of 140 partner agencies like food pantries, meal sites, and youth programs.

The Food Bank works tirelessly to source donations from the community, food industry, wholesalers and more. Last year they distributed a staggering 15.1 million pounds of food, including 2.7 million pounds of fresh produce. Their reach is wide, but so is the need.

That's where we come in. By donating funds, we can help the Food Bank maximize resources and purchasing power. Just $1 provides 3 meals for a hungry Rhode Islander. Together, our contributions go further to nourish our neighbors facing food insecurity.

It takes a village to address an issue like hunger, and we are proud to support the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. If you'd like to join us in fighting hunger, please donate!

Our community is stronger when no one goes hungry - let's work together towards that vision.

Thank You!

Elderly and Disabled in South Kingstown Offered Snow Removal Exemptions

Under South Kingstown town code, property owners must clear snow and ice from adjacent public sidewalks within 12 hours of a weather event, or face potential fines.

To balance public safety with individual capabilities, exemptions are available for disabled residents or those aged 62 and older, provided they present the required documentation.

Gas Line Installation to Affect Westmoreland Street Traffic in Narragansett

In Narragansett, the installation of a new gas line will lead to milling of the access lane on Westmoreland Street from Route 108 (Point Judith Rd), affecting one lane and slightly impacting entrances to Mariner Square Plaza and nearby condos.

Paving is scheduled for the following week, assuming cooperative weather, and will cover the area from Pole #54 to the dead end of the street.

EEE Confirmed in Rhode Island Deer, Caution Urged for Hunters

After confirming EEE in a deer in Charlestown, the Rhode Island DEM is warning hunters of the continuing threat of mosquito-borne diseases.

Hunters are advised to wear protective gear and avoid consuming unhealthy game, as recent mosquito samples from Exeter have also tested positive for EEE.
