Navigating Narragansett: A Week of Essential Roadworks.

The town of Narragansett is gearing up for a series of roadworks to improve local infrastructure.

Monday's focus is on Kinney Ave and a portion of West Bay/South River Drive.

Tuesday will see attention diverted to parts of South Pier Road and two areas of Wheatfield Cove.

Finally, on Wednesday, Sunset Boulevard will receive its top asphalt layer.

Residents are reminded that these operations are dependent on the weather.

South Kingstown Grapples with the Future of High School Construction: Plans, Costs, and Public Sentiment.

The South Kingstown Town Council, School Committee, and School Building Committee held a joint meeting to strategize the potential construction of a new high school.

The proposal aims to reintroduce the project to voters. Chris Spiegel from LeftField presented updated plans and a projected cost of around $153.8 million.

Financing options and the related tax implications were discussed, with the town considering either a 20-year or 30-year bond.

Superintendent Robert Littlefield highlighted a decline in student enrollment, and during the public comment segment, residents voiced both concerns and support for the project.

Oversight at South County Pharmacy: Missing Opioids Prompt Two-Year Probation

South County Hospital pharmacy faces a two-year probation following the loss of opioids, Fentanyl Citrate and hydromorphone, as reported last November.

A detailed evaluation identified lapses in the pharmacy's security and surveillance systems.

During the probation, the pharmacy will undergo unscheduled inspections every quarter.

In addressing the incident, South County Health highlighted their proactive measures, which resulted in the termination of an involved staff member.

The pharmacy has since adopted advanced software to ensure better medication tracking and can appeal for an early probation termination after a year.
