Free Mammogram Screening for Women Aged 40-64 in Rhode Island

Are you a Rhode Island woman between 40 and 64 who's been delaying your yearly mammogram due to being uninsured or under-insured? South County Health welcomes you to a complimentary mammogram session on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at South County Hospital, Wakefield, RI. Insurance is not a barrier.

Prioritize early detection for breast cancer, even before symptoms appear. Join us at our Women's Imaging Center, endorsed by the American College of Radiology, where we offer state-of-the-art 3D mammography technology. Our certified professionals and renowned radiologists ensure accurate results.

Roadwork: Kinney Ave and Surrounding Roads Set for Asphalt Overlay; Construction Starts on Wheatfield Cove Rd in Narragansett

Starting today, Kinney Ave will undergo milling in anticipation of an asphalt overlay. This preparation will also extend to parts of South Bay Rd and the stretch of West Bay Rd between North Trail and Woodridge Rd.

For smooth traffic flow, flaggers will be present on site. After the milling process concludes, the roads will receive their asphalt overlay.

Additionally, construction activities are set to commence on Wheatfield Cove Rd by late tomorrow morning.

Local Towns Collaborate with American Red Cross for Community Shelter Training

South Kingstown, North Kingstown, and Narragansett Towns have teamed up with the American Red Cross to offer shelter training for community members.

This training aims to equip attendees with the skills to assist neighbors during disasters.

Participants will enhance their understanding of shelter operations and acquire hands-on experience, boosting their confidence in undertaking various shelter roles.

This valuable training also prepares them to volunteer with the Red Cross or local Emergency Management teams. Join us on November 18th, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Broad Rock Middle School. Lunch provided
