Men’s Basketball
Rhode Island fell to George Mason 92-84. Despite the loss, Rhode Island's forward David Green delivered an exceptional performance, achieving a career-high of 29 points. He was one of four Rams players to score in double figures, underscoring Rhode Island's strong offensive effort throughout the match.
A significant disparity in free throw scoring and personal fouls also played a role in the game's outcome. George Mason capitalized on their opportunities at the free throw line, outscoring Rhode Island 25-13. Additionally, Rhode Island faced a challenge with 29 personal fouls called against them, compared to 18 for George Mason, impacting their ability to maintain a competitive edge throughout the game.
The Men’s next game will be Home against La Salle on Wednesday, January 31st at 7 PM. This game will be streamed on ESPN+.
Women’s Basketball
In a dominant performance, the Rhode Island Rams defeated UMASS 63-48, with significant contributions from Sophie Phillips and Mayé Touré. The Rams established an early lead and responded effectively to a brief surge from Massachusetts, maintaining control and securing a comfortable win.
The next Women’s game will be away against George Washington on Wednesday, January 31st at 6 PM. This game will be streamed on ESPN+.
